NEW MEMBERS.

You are now members of the Costa Brava U3A. It is time for you to decide which of the following groups interest you and you would like to join. The group coordinator describes the activities and other important information on their group page so have a look. Once you decide which groups you would like to join please email the coordinators. This is very easy to do as on each group page, just under the coordinator contact details there is an envelope,  click on it and an email will open for you to complete to request group membership. You will need to do this for each group you would like to join. This email goes directly to the coordinator and contains all your contact details.

The History of Torroella de Montgri14 Jun 201311:00

Venue: Casa Pastors (the Old Museum) of Torroella de Montgri in carrer Major.

Meeting: Every month except July and August

The History Group has flourished for some 6 years and has the good fortune to be able to use a highly satisfactory room in the old Museum of Torroella de Montgri for our meetings and discussions.

We started our historical studies by studying those features which had an important effect on Spain. In this way we hoped to be able to understand the past and its influence on everyday life in Spain today. This has been our main study but we have also diverted from time to time to study the pre-history of the Mediterranean and similar projects. We have been careful not to have a rigid timeframe so that members who have missed a few sessions do not feel left out.

We meet in the cafe in the  Plaza de la Vila at 10.30 am and having put to rights some of the world´s problems, we stroll down to Casa Pastors for 11.00 am.

Have a look at the programme below.  Any suggestions for topics of interest, or willingness to give a presentation, will be most welcome. Why not come along and see if this sort of history study will suit you?
